This document is not final. Still to be stated: Registered company name, Registered address, Data-centre country. Do not rely on it, and do not submit the app to either store until it is complete — an administrator completes it under Admin › Company.

StoneDex is run by a small team, and support is a person rather than a queue.

How to reach us

Email sarmad.alsadi@gmail.com

We answer within one working day, Sunday to Thursday, UAE time.

The questions we are asked most

I have forgotten my password

Use Forgotten your password? under the sign-in box. If nothing arrives, the address on your account may be missing or unconfirmed — write to us and we will send you a link that works once and expires in an hour.

A code from my authenticator app is refused

Almost always the phone's clock. Set it to update automatically, wait for the next code and try that. If you have lost the phone, use one of the ten recovery codes you wrote down when you switched two-factor on. If you have lost those too, write to us: the owner can clear two-factor on your account, which signs every device out and lets you set it up again.

The app is slow to open, or will not open at all

The first time you open StoneDex it downloads the whole library, which is several megabytes; after that it opens from the device and works even with no signal. If it is slow every time, the app is not being kept on the device — add it to your home screen (on iPhone: Share, then Add to Home Screen) and open it from there.

I took a photograph for Identify and there was no signal

It is kept on the phone. The Identify tab tells you how many are waiting, and they are sent and named the moment you are back online. Do not clear the app's data before then.

Identify gave me the wrong stone

Tell it. Every correction goes to a review queue and, once approved, into the reference set the next identification is matched against. StoneDex holds one reference photograph per stone, so on a different block from a different quarry it offers candidates rather than an answer — the tab says so — and your corrections are what narrow that.

How do I get my data out, or close my account?

Both are on your account page, and neither needs us. Closing an account sets out what goes and what stays before you confirm, and the privacy notice repeats it. If you closed one by mistake, write to us inside thirty days: the account can be recreated and what the app saved for you put back.

Who reads my projects?

StoneDex staff can read a project's contents while sourcing help is on, which is what pricing a job requires. The switch is on the Account tab in the app. Turning it off is an instruction we follow rather than a lock on the file — the projects are on the server either way. An administrator of your organisation always sees project and client names, and any photograph you send to Identify. No other subscriber sees anything of yours.

What StoneDex does not claim

StoneDex reports published test data with its source and its standard, and process guidance with its revision. It does not certify a stone, approve a panel, or tell you that an installation complies with anything. Those are decisions for the person with the licence and the professional indemnity, and the app says so on every screen where it matters.
